Ms Annie Tohme-Tabet

Anthropologist, professor at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Ms Annie Tohmé-Tabet has developed significant experience in teaching and research.

She participated in the UNESCO Women, Development and Intangible Heritage Programme (2001). She was responsible for the national project in Lebanon (2009-2010) and then regional coordinator in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon (2011-2012) of MEDLIHER (EU/UNESCO). In addition to facilitating capacity-building workshops since 2011, she has contributed, as an independent expert, to the sessions of the Advisory Body of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Section in 2013 and 2014. She has represented Lebanon on the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention since 2015.
