Social sciences and the COVID-19 pandemic - Call for conference papers

18/05/2021

The French Presidency of the Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council (IGC) of UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme is organising a symposium entitled "Social Sciences and the COVID-19 Pandemic: State of Knowledge and Proposals for Action" on 21 and 22 October 2021 on the use of social science research in the management of the health crisis.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a lot of social science research has been carried out in many countries, alongside research in the field of life sciences. It is thus proposed to make a broad overview, two years after the beginning of the pandemic, of the research in SHS on the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences. To this end, the MOST Programme and its Presidency invite you to contribute.

The call for contributions will take place in two stages.

  • You have until 15 July 2021 at 9:00 pm (GMT+2) to send your paper proposals in English or French to c.guinet@unesco.org.
  • The selected proposals will then be the subject of papers to be sent in their entirety before 20 September 2021.

Scientific coordination will be ensured by Dr Erwan Dianteill, Professor of Cultural Anthropology and President of the MOST IGC, and by the nine members of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the MOST Programme.

Colloquium organized by the MOST Programme and the French National Commission for UNESCO, with the support of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Delegation of France to UNESCO.
