11/06/2021
05 - Gender Equality
09 - Industry Innovation and Infrastructure
17 - Partnerships for the Goals

The UNESCO Science Report arrives at a crucial juncture as we approach the halfway mark for delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

According to the report, there has been an international alignment of development priorities over the past five years, with countries of all income levels prioritizing their transition towards digital and ‘green’ economies in parallel.

The launch ceremony on 11 June will feature a video and expert discussion of the report’s key findings. Following an introductory message by the UNESCO Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, and interventions by the Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences, Shamila Nair-Bedouelle, and the Editor in Chief of the report, Susan Schneegans, six of the report’s authors will provide an overview of trends in their region. These regional overviews will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

The launch event will take place online from 16:00 to 18:00 (CET). You can watch live on this page or register to participate on Zoom - Zoom participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.
