World Engineering Day 2021 @ UNESCO/AEESEAP/PII UNESCO Jakarta Office, as the Regional Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific in collaboration with AEESEAP (Association for Engineering Education in Southeast Asia and the Pacific) and the Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII) are pleased to invite you to a special event dedicated to World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development on 4 March from 11:00 to 13:00 Jakarta time. This will start with an introduction session for UNESCO-AEESEAP-PII joint publication and the proposal for a digital platform for Regional Collaboration of Engineers and will be followed by a discussion on regional trends, challenges and approaches in engineering education for sustainable development, as well as future steps for international collaboration. The online event is open to all types of audiences who are interested in the engineering landscape and collaborations in Asia and the Pacific. We will have the opportunity to hear from several speakers, specialists in the fields of engineering education, engineering value chain and Open Engineering and sustainable development. Youth’s Voice for the Future of Media and Information Literacy in Asia and the Pacific The main objective of this event is to understand how to better integrate media and information literacy (MIL) into education from the perspective of youth in Asia and the Pacific region, taking into consideration specific challenges faced by young women, as well as youth with disabilities, such as internet connectivity and accessibility. Another objective of this exercise is to build and strengthen the network of youth who could be the advocates for developing and expanding MIL in the Asia and the Pacific region. The outcome of the online consultation will feed into Plan of Action for Youth Engagement to enhance Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in Asia and the Pacific. - 18 November 2020
