Permanent Delegate of Indonesia to UNESCO visits IICBA

On Tuesday November 29, 2016 IICBA welcomed Ambassador/Alternate Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Tubagus Ahmad Fauzi Soelaiman, and the Head of Administration Mr. Adi Huryanto.

Dr. Yokozeki, IICBA Director, expressed IICBA’s appreciation to the Government of Indonesia for their support through their Loaned Expert, Ms. Indriyati Rodjan. Since her arrival in September, she has supported IICBA on teacher training model-building, and CPD frameworks for teacher and mother-tongue education from an Indonesia perspective. She also contributes to developing of IICBA partnership networks, including the prospect of potential cooperation with the Government of Indonesia and SEAMEO (Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization).

Prof. Tubagus Ahmad Fauzi relayed his wish to build more cooperation with UNESCO. Indonesia has been active in every domain of UNESCO, and is most proud of its promotion of mother tongue education in a highly multi-lingual country. The Government of Indonesia is willing to share its experience and practices with IICBA, and is optimistic about the feasibility of future cooperation.

Dr. Yokozeki outlined the need for more South-South cooperation between Asia and Africa in various fields of teacher development. She expressed the keen interest from IICBA to further develop cooperation with the Government of Indonesia through joint-funding programs.
