Two Prominent Champions of Girl's Education in Africa visit IICBA

Ms. AÏcha Bah Diallo of Guinea and Dr. Genet Zewdie of Ethiopia visited IICBA on 27th of January 2017. The two long time champions of girl's education in Africa previously served as Ministers of Education of their respective countries and have introduced various reforms. Dr. Yumiko Yokozeki, Director of IICBA, thanked both of them for taking the time to visit IICBA and for taking part as a panelist in the High-Level Dialogue on Gender Equality and Education which IICBA co-organized on the 26th of January 2017. Dr. Yokozeki said that the main purpose of their visit to IICBAwas to exchange views on the state of girl's education in Africa and to identify potential areas of collaboration.

Discussions were held on a number of topics between the guests and IICBA staff. Staff members from IICBA posed questions and the guests shared their views and wisdom on a number of issues on education in Africa. Dr. Yokozeki concluded by expressing her appreciation for their visit and added that IICBA looks forward to working with them in the future.
