The new Board Chair thanks Julia Gillard and Serigne Mbaye Thiam as he takes up the rein of a GPE, the "key player in the international education aid sector."
At the Global Education Summit, GPE’s ‘Raise Your Hand’ campaign raised $4 billion in donor pledges and received commitments for more and better education financing from partner countries for 2021-2025.

The Global Education Summit on July 28- 29, 2021 was co-hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. Leaders committed increased domestic and international financing to education, including support for GPE's work to help transform education systems in up to 90 countries and territories.
