Open school data
The number of countries providing the general public with access to educational data has grown rapidly over the past decade, encouraged by new information technologies and growing pressure from citizens for greater transparency. But while more school-level information is shared, several key questions emerge: What are the most critical data to publish? How can we foster the active engagement of citizens? What are the major risks attached to the opening up of information?
This book is part of IIEP's research programme into open government in education. It uses real-world examples from 50 countries to argue for the need to shift from an administrative approach to a more citizen-centred perspective.
