The content of the journal does dress up to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary and offers a special issue with articles written by a group of valuable and highly recognized academics, many of them unavoidable references for the field of higher education in various countries of our region. These articles analyze the evolution of the last decades that shape the current situation and allow us to outline future perspectives for higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean. Fifteen papers accompany this volume, which joins a profuse multiplicity of publications and academic activities that, through virtual platforms, have been deployed in the last year, keeping alive the thinking and systematic reflection of the academic community within each of the countries and also internationally.
