Help us fight against harmful gender norms and stereotypes!

16/09/2021

Our world is marked by gender inequalities which stem from harmful gender norms and stereotypes. The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to expose the destructive effects of these stereotypes, which amongst other things, disproportionately affect women and girls by limiting their inclusion in sports and the digital world, as well as their access to education, healthcare, and safety.

Legislating for gender equality is critical, but if we want to build back better, it is more important than ever that we identify and analyze these harmful gender norms and stereotypes; and challenge them through long-term interventions that will lead to a change of mindsets.

For these reasons, the Social and Human Sciences Sector of UNESCO is developing a global Flagship Report Against Gender Stereotypes with new research and concrete recommendations for policymakers.

After Regional Expert Consultations against Gender Stereotypes, which took place in January 2021, helped us take stock of global and local challenges as well as good practices related to gender stereotypes and inequalities all over the world, we are continuing to compile additional research, insights, analysis and good practices.

Send us yours!

Click HERE and fill out a quick, simple, and anonymous survey to help UNESCO build a post-COVID-19 world where people of all genders can thrive.

It should not take longer than 10 minutes to complete.

The deadline for completion is 22 September 2021.

To ensure that we have a wide diversity of responses and respondents, we invite you to forward this survey to all your family, friends, colleagues, and networks.

Thank you for your contribution!
