The lecture, entitled "The Conservation Predicament in the Age of Globalisation", provided reflection on the evolution of heritage values in the past two centuries, and then examined current trends and prospects for conservation in the 21st century.

The Memorial Lecture was attended by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Tassos Papadopoulos, the Patriarch of the Autonomous Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Chrisostomos, the Rector of the University and several ministers and personalities of the Republic.

The President of the Leventis Foundation, Anastasios Leventis, as well as Ambassador Edmée Leventis also attended the event.

Mr Bandarin attended the event at the invitation of the Leventis Foundation and the University of Cyprus.
