UNESCO Creative Cities Get-together in Heidelberg

UNESCO Creative Cities Get-together in Heidelberg

When:
Wed, 06/24/2015 to Mon, 06/29/2015
From 24th to 29th June, the sub-network meeting of the UNESCO creative cities of literature brought together representatives of Dublin (Ireland), Iowa City (United States), Krakow (Poland), Melbourne (Australia), Norwich (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Reykjavik (Iceland) and of the creative city of music of Mannheim (Germany) in Heidelberg (Germany). The participants shared their opinions on issues related to the future of the sub-Network. For instance: the Network organization, future inter-city activities, support for new member cities…etc. In addition, the experts contributed their knowledge and experience to discussions surrounding topics related to the creative field.

The representatives of the Network’s member cities were also invited to 21st “Heidelberger Literaturtage” (Heidelberg Literature Festival) including events at the Spiegel tent, a Poetry night at the Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Slam and a visit of the City Library and bookshops etc…

The Cities of Literature which attended the event suggested launching a sub-network annual meeting to complement the UCCN Annual meeting. A series of collaborative activities will be implemented by the member cities in the future.
