Afyonkarahisar organized its first International Gastronomy Workshop

Afyonkarahisar, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in Turkey since 2019, organized its first International Afyonkarahisar Gastronomy Workshop to exchange experiences among Creative Cities of Gastronomy worldwide. The workshop was also aimed at reflecting the designation of the city as a Creative City and its impact at local, national and international level.

During the two-day workshop, Creative Cities of Gastronomy from worldwide were invited to share online their initiatives and projects undertaken in 2019-2020 as well as their planned future activities for 2021. Using a transversal approach across the national gastronomic cluster, the workshop was also aimed at raising awareness about the Network and its mission at the national level.

This first edition of the workshop followed by over 600 viewers, built an important platform for exchanges among Creative Cities of Gastronomy, opening new bridges for collaboration and further contributing to the development of the Network in Turkey.

More than 30 institutions and 8 Creative Cities of Gastronomy participated actively in the event, including cities from Turkey (Hatay and Gazantiep) as well as from Italy (Bergamo and Alba), Sweden (Östersund), Iran (Rasht) and China (Macao SAR).
