Östersund Offers Visitors a Culinary Experience through its Harvest festival

Östersund Offers Visitors a Culinary Experience through its Harvest festival

When:
Sat, 09/11/2021 to Sun, 09/12/2021

On 11 and 12 September 2021, to celebrate its longstanding culinary tradition, Östersund (Sweden), a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy since 2017, hosted the Harvest gastronomic festival.

This year, the annual Harvest festival saw more than twenty local farmers open their farms to the public and invited visitors to experience the region’s gastronomic traditions and explore its culinary history. Offering the opportunity to taste genuine local products, such as freshly harvested vegetables, charcuterie, cheese, bread and many more delicacies, this culturally significant celebration allowed visitors to discover the uniqueness of the region and its gastronomic wealth and promoted sustainable gastronomy in the region.

Through this traditional event, the city of Östersund supports small entrepreneurs and farmers in local sustainable food production and the protection of the region’s strong culinary traditions.
