Situational analysis on the use of frontier technologies in teaching and learning in primary and secondary education
This project explores how frontier technologies can help countries to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all and make progress towards the achievement of SDG 4. It aims to identify the factors and conditions that enable and support schools to successfully apply such technologies in teaching and learning in primary and secondary education.
To kick off the situational analysis, a rapid survey was conducted online to ask teachers in the Asia-Pacific region about technologies in their schools. The quick informal survey was prepared in 11 languages and disseminated through social media. Moving forward, the project will carry out case studies to gain a better understanding of how frontier technologies are used and making impacts in schools.

Funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, the situational analysis is a component of the project ‘Supporting the implementation of the SDG 4–Education 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific’. The overall purpose of this umbrella project is to support countries in the region in the effective implementation and monitoring of SDG 4 and the Education 2030 Agenda.
