On 22-24 September 2021, the International Conference “Digital Technologies in TVET” was successfully held at the University of Management “TISBI” (Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan) within the framework of the International Forum Kazan Digital Week-2021. The Conference, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the UNEVOC Center of the University of Management “TISBI”, was supported by the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the National Coordination Center of the UNESCO Associated Schools of the Russian Federation, UNESCO IITE, the UNEVOC Center for Professional Education and Training and the UNESCO Chair “Training and Retraining Specialists under Market Economy Conditions” of the University of Management “TISBI”.
The Conference, held in both offline and online formats, was aimed at discussing topical issues of technical and vocational education and training related to the use of digital technologies in the activities of educational organizations, including distance education and the digital educational environment. The work of the Conference was carried out within the framework of five areas:
- Digital transformation of the educational process in TVET.
- Development of digital skills among TVET graduates.
- Tools for the carrier development of schoolchildren in the face of digitalization.
- Prospects for the development of professions in the digital economy.
- Media education and media competence in the era of digitalization.
At the plenary session of the Conference, which was led by the President of the University of Management “TISBI”, the UNESCO ASPnet National Coordinator of the Russian Federation Ms. Nella Pruss, reports were presented by the Rector of the University of Management “TISBI” Mr. Aleksey Lopatin, Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Mr. Grigory Ordzhonikidze, Head of the group on innovations and the future in the field of TVET of the International Center UNESCO-UNEVOC Ms. Sarah Elson-Rogers, heads of the regional Ministry of Education and Science, educational organizations, IT companies and public associations working in the field of TVET. Programme Specialist of UNESCO IITE Ms. Tatiana Murovana moderated the discussion session devoted to the media education development and the formation of media and information literacy of teachers and students within TVET organizations.
The Conference program included a visiting session on the basis of five Kazan technical schools and colleges, as well as a series of master classes from leading Russian and foreign companies developing software and equipment for education.
