Open Science: fulfilling the human right to share in scientific advancement and its benefits
The high-level event “Closing the Global Knowledge Gaps to Build Back Better: The Potential of Open Science” brought together governments, UN agencies, scientists and practitioners to reflect on the potential of open science for closing the knowledge gaps and accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the post-COVID19 era. It was organized by UNESCO during the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, on 28 September 2021, celebrating the International Day for Universal Access to Information.
