Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2018

MIL CLICKS Fete

About MIL CLICKS

MIL CLICKS is a social media innovation led by UNESCO. MIL CLICKS is a way for people to acquire media and information literacy (MIL) competencies in their normal day-to-day use of the Internet and social media and to engage in peer education in an atmosphere of browsing, playing, connecting, sharing, and socializing.

MIL CLICKS webinar

The MIL CLICKS webinar will be held in partnership with Twitter, right after the Feature Events. It will be around one certain topic related to the theme of Global MIL Week 2018.

Topic:

Tackling Disinformation with Media and Information Literacy

How does it work?

  • On 30 October 2018, webinar speakers will post tweets around the topic in using the hashtag #MILCLICKS. Speakers can freely interact with the tweets posted by other speakers.
  • Anyone who has a Twitter account can ask a question in connection with the topic to the speakers in using the @ function (a list of speakers' Twitter handle will be made available). Speakers who receive a pertinent question shall give an answer, comment or opinion within 15 minutes in one or two tweets with the hashtag #MILCLICKS.
  • There will be three webinar sessions in total for different world time zones. The @MILCLICKS Twitter account will serve as the moderator.
