Strengthening Media Self-Regulatory Mechanisms in Timor-Leste

Capacity building activities, including peer-to-peer training with experts from established international or regional press councils, to enhance the knowledge of the Members of the Timor Leste Press Council (TLPC) in the effective management and daily operation of a press council;

Capacity building activities, conducted together with TLPC and experts from established international or regional journalism schools, to train young Timor Leste journalists and journalism students on the role of self-regulation including building their capacity to produce quality journalism;

Sharing of good practices and experience with established regional and international press councils in a South-South and North-South modality in particular through participation at relevant international and regional events;

Awareness-raising activities on the role of self-regulatory mechanisms and importance of free, independent and professional media especially in conjunction with international days including public symposium, infographics, and animation videos.
