Nepal
Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in Nepal.
The primary objective of the European Union’s development policy is the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development. EU partnerships and dialogue with developing countries promote respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms, peace, democracy, good governance, and gender equality, the rule of law, solidarity and justice.
UNESCO is leading innovative projects around the world thanks to voluntary contributions it has received from donors in support of freedom of expression.
The project, financed by the European Union, aims at improving the transparency of Nepal’s government and the accountability of decision-making through a broader implementation of the Right to Information Act.
