About the project:

The project aims to make a general survey on ways to improve national arts funding. It organized by Business and Arts South Africa, as part of a joint initiative between the Department of Arts and Culture and the private sector. The identified best practices and recommendations on how to unlock funding opportunities in the country should provide incentives for investment in the arts and stimulate cultural industries.

    Results:

    • Developed five indices to provide a standardized and ongoing measure of the key decision‐making and sponsorship processes involved in arts sponsorship.
    • Developed an 'Arts Sponsorship Management Toolkit' to enhance arts sponsorship practice and develop strategies for business partnership in South Africa.
