China World Peace Foundation

The China World Peace Foundation is an international organization standing in the front of the social reform of China. It promotes the friendly communication between different governments, international organizations, multinational enterprises and China. With the support of China government authorities and the Chinese Development Bank, the China World Peace Foundation coordinates the allocation of international resources and extends mutual-beneficiary cooperation.

CWPF Cooperates with UNESCO and bring Shaolin Martial Arts to Africa

In 2014, the China World Peace Foundation, Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation launched a cultural exchange program together with UNESCO: "Chinese Shaolin monks into Africa". The project aims at inculcating African youth with martial arts and self-discipline; to sensitize them about peace and non-violence in order to assume their responsibility of peace; to transmit the message of peace and reconciliation and promote the formation of an intercultural dialogue mechanism.

Mali and the Cote d'Ivoire were identified as the two destination countries, this partially because of the reality of reconstruction after turbulent conditions, and also due to the object of developing the friendly relationships with these two countries. The delegation will stay one month in Africa for this mission. 

Before delegation’s departure, President Li Ruohong and His Excellency Ambassador of Mali Mr. Lansina Kone exchanged ideas in Peace Garden Museum about beliefs, diplomatic etiquette, customs and security issues. It is reported that political leaders and senior government officials including the President, the Prime Minister will be meeting with the delegation. Likewise, the schedule of the delegation will be carefully arranged by UNESCO representatives and the Chinese Embassies in the two countries.

Cote d'Ivoire Speaker Meets with CWPF Delegation

On 22 October 2014, the Speaker of Cote d'Ivoire met with the Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation headed by the deputy secretary-general of China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) in the hall of Parliament. The deputy speaker and secretary-general of Cote d'Ivoire, Yao Ido, the representative of UNESCO in Cote d'Ivoire and the president and deputy president of Cote d'Ivoire Wushu Federation were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the representative of UNESCO and the deputy secretary-general of CWPF introduced the  visiting purpose of the delegation to the Speaker of Cote d'Ivoire and expressed the idea of the model of“peace+1”and the Shaolin culture of the unification of meditation and Wushu which can promote world peace. The Speaker of Cote d'Ivoire said that the Parliament supports the Wushu Federation to popularize the Shaolin culture for Cote d'Ivoire needs inclusiveness, needs understanding between bothers and needs peaceful environment. He further said that the Parliament of Cote d'Ivoire supports the Temple of Shaolin to keep passing on Wushu and meditation in Cote d'Ivoire. After the meeting, the delegation asked the Speaker to convey the regards of Li Ruohong, Chairman of the CWPF, to the President of Cote d'Ivoire and give the group photo taken with the President. He accepted it with pleasure.

During the meeting, the monks also gave a live performance for the Speaker and other Parliament officials and their wonderful martial arts performance gained warm welcome from the officials. 

Before the meeting, the Wushu Federation of Cote d'Ivoire held a grand performance assembly in the National Indoor Stadium of Cote d'Ivoire. More than 300 Wushu lovers attended the performance.

Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation visits Mali

The Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation organized by China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) and Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation (BIPCF) ended its 10-day peace and culture trip to Cote d'ivoire and flew to Bamako, the capital of Mali on October 25,2014. It was warmly welcomed by Representative of UNESCO in Mali, Minister Representative of Youth Ministry of Mali, Counselor of Chinese Embassy to Mali, Chairman of Kungfu and Wushu association of Mali and many local Wushu lovers. The Minister of Youth Ministry met the members of the delegation in his office afterwards. The Representative of UNESCO and the Youth Minister jointly held a grand welcome dinner for the delegation in a best Chinese restaurant.

Malian President praises Chinese NGO’s Peace Move in Africa

On 8 November 2014, China Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation headed by Deputy Secretary General of CWPF demonstrated Chinese martial art especially for President Keita and his wife, Prime Minister Mala and his wife and all cabinet ministers and their wives of Mali. Nearly a thousand Malian women, children and martial art lovers watched the demonstration.  The wonderful demonstration given by the monks of China Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation won thunderous applause from the audiences.

CWPF Delegation Leaves Mali for Beijing

Chinese Shaolin Peace Culture Delegation headed by Ms.Xiao Kejian, Deputy Secretary General of China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) successfully completed its peace culture spreading mission to Africa with the cooperation of CWPF and UNESCO and left Mali for Beijing viaParis loaded with honors.

Moumouni Sylla, Minister of Youth Ministry of Mali kindly met with all the members of the delegation in his office and expressed his greeting to Li Ruohong, Chairman of CWPF.

Peace Culture Delegation Received Warm Welcome Back Home

Having successfully ended its one month tour to Cote d'Ivoire and Mali, the Peace Culture Delegation headed by Ms. Xiao Kejian, Deputy Secretary General of China World Peace Foundation (CWPF) came to Paris, the Headquarters of UNESCO to report its work and was warmly welcome by Mr. Hans Daoweile, Assistant director General of UNESCO in charge of strategic affairs on November 17, 2014. UNESCO Senior officials in charge of teenager education and peace culture propaganda also attended the report meeting. Having- listened to the work report of the delegation, Mr. Hans Daoweile gave a high evaluation on the delegation’s work. He said that it happened to be a very special time when you visit Africa. It was really not easy for you to brave the  Ebola epidemic. By keeping peace culture propagating mission in mind, you had done a lot during your visit and successfully accomplished this mission. He was especially grateful to Mr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of CWPF and ShiYongxin, Abbot of the Shaolin Temple for their support for this project. He issued certificate to each one of the delegation.
