Workshop on media diversity and cultural pluralism in Seychelles

 

The 2005 Convention stipulates that Parties should adopt measures aimed at enhancing the diversity of media and diversity in media, including through public service broadcasting, and more recently, public service media.

The training in Seychelles aims to raise awareness among media professionals on the importance of media diversity and diversity in the media. It will identify the gaps and demonstrate media’s role as a promoter of the diversity of cultural expressions, as well as equip the participants with the tools to fill these gaps. The two-day training will focus on the external context such as media policy as well as the internal context such as programming and editorial policies.

Create | 2030 Seychelles Talk will discuss policy initiatives and measures taken or needed to support diversity of media and diversity of content in the media in Seychelles. It will be preceded by a public presentation of the findings and recommendations of the UNESCO 2018 Global Report: ReShaping Cultural Policies.
