ARGENTINA

"Sou Assim" | "This is who I am - Afro Woman" | Kulily Afrofeminist Women's Artistic Collective

To commemorate the International Day for Women of African Descent (25 July 2021), the Ministry of Culture of Argentina created Así soy, mujer afro: a video-dance to disseminate and recognize the struggles of Afro women and reflect on the construction of a more inclusive society that values diversity as a contribution to national culture.

Emanuel Ntaka and Rodrigo Gonzalez give life to BOEHMI, a fusion of techniques that carry their own expression and interpretation. They are two sounds that bring with them influences, ideas, and diverse backgrounds of genres of ancestral roots, such as Afro music and flamenco, which then coexist, leaving behind something specific and punctual to become a cultural intertwining.

The Modalatus Project

Musical project created by Iury Matias (guitarist) and Laura Rui (singer), who seek through improvisation and creativity to establish a dialogue between Brazilian and Portuguese music and jazz, where rhythm and world sounds acquire a central role in the conception of arrangements and re-readings of the repertoire chosen by the duo. Open space for original compositions where experimentation and spontaneity know no limits.

Dissonância - Concert Designed by JAS and Ango-Jazz

Show performed on October 5, 2021 as part of the launch of the Biennale of Luanda, in which Portuguese artist João Alexandrino, AKA JAS, joined the Ango-Jazz Orchestra to interpret, at the Casa da Música - Luanda, in real time, a repertoire that combines Jazz with Portuguese intervention music and Angolan popular music.

Festival de Invierno – Jazz del Uruguay

The Instituto Nacional de Música and Sodre present the Winter Festival "Jazz del Uruguay" that was held from 31 August to 4 September 2021 at the Hugo Balzo Hall. 

This festival is part of the National Institute of Music's actions to promote, develop and disseminate the music of Uruguay, and is a joint initiative that aims to reflect the particular imprint of Uruguayan jazz through the compositions of national artists.
