Extrabudgetary Projects on Freedom of Expression in Tunisia

Tunisia

Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in Tunisia.

The primary objective of the European Union’s development policy is the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development. EU partnerships and dialogue with developing countries promote respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms, peace, democracy, good governance, and gender equality, the rule of law, solidarity and justice.

Finland supports developing countries' own development efforts by means of both political advocacy and financing. Durable results can be attained only through development that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. This calls for coherence in the cooperation between the different policy sectors influencing the development.

The Dutch government wants to promote sustainable economic growth in developing countries. And it wants to work towards global stability and security and to foster human rights.

Norway’s foreign and development policy is designed to promote economic development, democratisation, implementation of human rights, good governance and measures that can lift people out of poverty for good.

AECID is the central organisation that manages Spanish Cooperation, dedicated to the fight against poverty and to sustainable human development. It is attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

Sida is a government agency working on behalf of the Swedish parliament and government, with the mission to reduce poverty in the world. SIDA works in order to implement the Swedish development policy that will enable poor people to improve their lives. Another part of its mission is conducting reform cooperation with Eastern Europe, which is financed through a specific appropriation. The third part of SIDA's assignment is to distribute humanitarian aid to people in need of assistance. SIDA carries out enhanced development cooperation with a total of 33 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. The selection of cooperation countries are based on political decisions made by the Swedish government.

Switzerland is a multi-ethnic, multilingual and multi-confessional nation shaped by the will of its people. It has been a federal State since 1848. Switzerland has a federal structure with three different political levels: the Confederation, the cantons and the communes.
