Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent, humanitarian, non-profit, non-governmental organization which provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide. NRC promotes and protects the rights of people who have been forced to flee their countries, or their homes within their countries.

 

UNESCO is leading innovative projects around the world thanks to voluntary contributions it has received from donors in support of freedom of expression.

 

 

The secondment of three communication experts from the Norwegian Refugee Council has promoted UNESCO’s work on freedom of expression in Liberia, Libya and Myanmar.

 

 

 

 

The secondment of two communication experts from the Norwegian Refugee Council has promoted UNESCO’s work in promoting the safety of journalists and combatting impunity in Pakistan and South Sudan.

 

 

 

Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in dozens of countries around the world.
