Extrabudgetary Projects on Freedom of Expression - The Swiss Confederation

The Swiss Confederation

Switzerland is a multi-ethnic, multilingual and multi-confessional nation shaped by the will of its people. It has been a federal State since 1848. Switzerland has a federal structure with three different political levels: the Confederation, the cantons and the communes.

UNESCO is leading innovative projects around the world thanks to voluntary contributions it has received from donors in support of freedom of expression.

Together with partners, this project contributes to the effective implementation of the new principle on access to information held by public bodies in the Tunisian context, including fostering its ownership by national stakeholders, with a multi-stakeholder approach and a particular focus on civil society.

Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in dozens of countries around the world.
