Urban Water Management Programme (UWMP)

Cities around the world are facing a range of pressures resulting from population growth, climate change and deterioration of urban infrastructure systems. As water demand keeps increasing, an increasing number of cities are facing challenges of managing scarcer and less reliable water resources in an efficient way.

Water security in human settlements, depends, more than ever, on improving the integrated management of water services and on taking a holistic management approach to this critical this resource  together with other resources, services, and sources of risks.

The Urban Water Management Programme (UWMP) aims to support countries in addressing water problems in cities and improving water management in urban areas.
