Jim Taylor worked for the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa for 35 years. For twenty of these he served as Director of Environmental Education. During this time he was a founder member and project lead of the SADC Regional Environmental Education Programme. This programme continued for 15 years and now lives on as the Sustainability Starts with Teachers (SST) in partnership with UNESCO and Rhodes University. He is now an honorary life member of WESSA and is a former President of EEASA (The Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa). Jim is active in ESD with UNESCO where he co-chaired the ESD-2030 initiative for transforming teaching and learning environments.
