Commitment

The Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education) is a movement of more than 150 businesses committed to ending the global education crisis.

To ensure that learning continues for more than 1.5 billion students whose education has been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have secured offers of more than 100 free educational tools, platforms, services, and other resources from the business community (found at gbc-education.org/covid19).

Recognizing that the needs go far beyond immediate support for remote-learning, we are also working with UN agencies, multilateral organizations, and national governments to accurately identify the best way for businesses to provide wrap-around support and capacity-building for new, remote modalities of teaching and learning, start preparing for a safe return to schools, and strengthen long-term resilience in educational systems.

We will leverage our REACT platform (now-REACT.org) to identify local-level needs, and mobilize corporate resources and expertise, and facilitate partnerships with organizations on the frontlines of education to provide high-tech, low-tech, and no-tech solutions to minimize the long-term impacts on the next generation.
