UNESCO International Institute of Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA), in the framework of the UNESCO China-Funds-in-Trust (CFIT) project in Ethiopia, will conduct a 1-day deans’ forum followed by 4 days of deans training on Management of Higher Education Institutions and Establishment of Online learning Platform on 9 – 13 November 2015 in Adama, Ethiopia.

The event answers to the need of training the management of teacher education institutions (TEIs) in Ethiopia and other countries in the contexts of the CFIT project. The objective of the forum is to increase the awareness of TEIs’ deans on the changing contexts of teacher education, and establish a network of deans of TEIs for the sharing of good practices and capacity development in the African Region. Following the forum, the 4-day training aims to enhance the deans’ skills on the management of Higher Education Institution and establishment of Online Learning Platform for a conducive learning environment. The event will gather some 90 participants including deans of HEIs, officers from MoE, and panelists from 6 African countries within CFIT project framework: Ethiopia, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Congo (Brazzaville), Tanzania, and Uganda.
