Dr. Meri Kumbe is a musicologist, lecturer at the Department of Musicology at the University of Arts of Tirana. From 2014 to 2016, she was the director of the National Center of Folklore Activities, Ministry of Culture of Albania. Her work consisted on the organization of Folkloric Festivals and notably on the awareness raising around ICH issues, as well as the inventory of the ICH and safeguarding. For around 2 years (2014-2016) she was the Secretary of the Albanian National Committee of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. In 2020, she was appointed the Deputy Minister of Culture of Albania.
