‘It is in the minds of people that the defences of peace must be constructed’
On 21 September, the International Day of Peace, UNESCO Bangkok reaffirms its commitment to its core goal of building peace in the minds of people. This year’s theme celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights speaks to the comprehensive human-rights approach that underpins all of the UN agencies’ work in the line with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. UNESCO focuses on education, the sciences, culture, and communication and information to build bridges of mutual trust, dignity and respect and advocate for peace in our time.

วันที่ 21 กันยายนเป็นวันสันติภาพสากล ยูเนสโก กรุงเทพฯ ยืนยันอีกครั้งถึงความมุ่งมั่นต่อเป้าหมายหลักของการสร้างสันติภาพในจิตใจของมนุษย์ หัวข้อสำหรับปีนี้ ซึ่งก็คือการรำลึกถึงการครบรอบ 70 ปีปฏิญญาสากลว่าด้วยสิทธิมนุษยชนนั้น เป็นการเน้นย้ำถึงการปฏิบัติงานบนหลักสิทธิมนุษยชนที่ครอบคลุม อันเป็นพื้นฐานของการทำงานโดยหน่วยงานของสหประชาชาติทั้งหมดตามแนวทางวาระการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน 2030 ยูเนสโกมุ่งเน้นที่เรื่องการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ธรรมชาติ สังคมศาสตร์ และมนุษยศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรม ตลอดจนการสื่อสารและสารสนเทศ เพื่อเป็นการสร้างความสัมพันธ์ของการเคารพ การให้เกียรติกัน และการเชื่อใจซึ่งกันและกัน และเป็นการส่งเสริมสันติภาพในยุคสมัยของเรา
