UNESCO established new partnership with Sisimpur Bangladesh to promote World Heritage sites of Bangladesh
Sesame Workshop Bangladesh, producer of popular Bangladeshi children's program “Sisimpur” is collaborating with UNESCO to promote and popularize UNESCO's three world heritage sites in Bangladesh among the children through its informative children program. Three world heritage sites of Bangladesh include, the Sundarbans, historic mosque City of Bagerhat, and the Ruins of the Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur. Mosque City of Bagerhat and the ruins of the Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur were enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1985. UNESCO declared The Sundarbans as a world heritage site in 1997.
UNESCO and Sesame Workshop Bangladesh signed an agreement at UNESCO Dhaka office on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of World Heritage Convention on December 5. Susan Vize, Officer-In-Charge of UNESCO Bangladesh, and Mohammad Shah Alam, Managing Director of Sesame Workshop Bangladesh signed the agreement. Under this collaboration, Sisimpur will promote these three world heritage sites to children and parents through Sisimpur’s edu-tainment content on the digital platforms of the program.
