Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Norway’s foreign and development policy is designed to promote economic development, democratisation, implementation of human rights, good governance and measures that can lift people out of poverty for good. Priority is given to education, humanitarian assistance, health and vaccination, private sector development, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and human rights.
Through support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNESCO opened a Project Office in Tunis in January 2012 to assist the Tunisian Government in developing and designing communication and information strategies for the recovery, reconstruction, and democratization of Tunisian Society, and to assist the Constituent Assembly and civil society in creating the new Constitution.
Voluntary contributions have strengthened UNESCO’s work in freedom of expression in dozens of countries around the world.
