TRUST inspiring creativity – Viborg launches #DrawWithDenmark 2022 international campaign

TRUST inspiring creativity – Viborg launches #DrawWithDenmark 2022 international campaign

When:
Tue, 03/01/2022 to Fri, 04/01/2022

After the global success of its 2021 drawing campaign, Viborg (Denmark), a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, is launching the second edition of #DrawWithDenmark. This year, the campaign will be accepting submissions from 1 March to 1 April 2022.

Once again, the city of Viborg is leveraging both its vibrant cultural scene and embracing being a Creative City, by partnering with local stakeholders including The Animation Workshop, the city’s Culture School and Visual High School, as well as international actors through the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. In 2021, some 40 Creative Cities and more than 3,300 children and young people across 33 countries took part in the first campaign. Even more are expected for this year’s edition.

For this year, Viborg has established 14 drawing challenges under the theme of ‘TRUST’ to further inspire participants. These challenges can be completed individually or collectively in groups, using various art mediums and techniques. Drawings can be submitted to the UNESCO Creative City of Viborg through digital upload, and subsequently shared on social media under #DrawWithDenmark for global outreach.

Through this initiative, Viborg aims to emphasize the imagination and creativity that distinguishes children, by inspiring them to build international bonds of solidarity, while enhancing participation in cultural life, notably for marginalized youth. Like last year, the 2022 campaign will explore various presentation formats, including animations or projections, to promote the creativity of children and young people beyond borders.
