Call for Applications: 2017 Business Skills for Protected Areas in Africa - deadline 24 February 2017
The call for applications for the business skills training programme for protected areas in Africa is now open until 24 February 2017.
Each year, the Earth Skills Network (ESN) provides funded training in:
- business planning and effective management practices and,
- personal development of leadership capabilities, with
- 12 months of mentoring from an ESN corporate member with significant business experience.
Eligibility: The programme is open to all permanent staff from protected areas, World Heritage sites, protected area agencies and management authorities in Africa. For each selected site, three staff from the site must be available to participate in the full programme. Selected participants must be fluent in English.
Costs: All costs are covered by the organizers.
Deadline for applications: 24 February 2017

Background
The Earth Skills Network is a unique partnership between the conservation world and business world, which provides training on business planning and effective management practices to protected areas, World Heritage sites, protected area agencies or management authorities in Africa.
The Earth Skills Network is the evolution of the successful Business Skills for natural World Heritage sites programme which ran between 2009 and 2013 in partnership between UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the international environmental charity Earthwatch, and the global energy company Royal Dutch Shell.
