The APSARA National Authority of the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and UNESCO are planning to jointly organize the 33rd Technical Session and the 26th Plenary Session of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Site of Angkor (ICC-Angkor) respectively on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December 2019 in Siem Reap. In close collaboration with the APSARA National Authority and UNESCO as a standing secretariat, the ICC-Angkor will be co-chaired by the Governments of France and Japan. Participants are from international community, a number of the diplomatic corps, personalities and specialists in the fields of restoration, archeology, conservation, research, sustainable development and the national and international teams carrying out their work at the Angkor Park.

The objectives of these upcoming sessions are; to discuss the status of preservation and development of Angkor, to assess the work carried out during the last six months; and to identify necessary actions in the upcoming months. A number of presentations will be delivered by national and international experts during these two days. The meetings will also provide a forum to many countries and institutions to review their assistance to Angkor, World Heritage Site.

Organized by the Secretariat of the ICC-Angkor, the Ad-hoc experts will visit a number of project sites in Angkor Park and the Sambor Prei Kuk site from 3 to 9 December 2019. During this period, the Ad-hoc experts for Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Tourism team will visit the Tonlé Sap Lake, in order to develop the draft Master Plan for Tourism Development in Siem Reap.
