Online Capacity Building Workshop on EMIS in Turkmenistan

The Online Capacity Building Workshop on Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) in Turkmenistan was jointly organized by the UNESCO Cluster Tehran office, Secretariat of National Commission of Turkmenistan, and Bangkok Regional office on 18 and 19 October 2021.

The workshop was held to create a forum for discussion on how EMIS can benefit Turkmenistan in its efforts to achieve SDG4. It started with speeches from the UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office and the Ministry of Education, the Institute of international relations of MFA, Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, and the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan. It also benefited from different technical sessions on the role of EMIS in quality data production in education, aligning EMIS with SDG4 indicators, developing individual student-based EMIS systems, as well as presentations from the Information-Analytic Center MOE of Kazakhstan and UNICEF Turkmenistan.

More than 50 participants attended the virtual workshop from the different governmental organizations and academic institutions of Turkmenistan.
