At EXPO Dubai 2020, the Ecology and Earth Sciences Programme at the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States in Cairo in cooperation with UAE UNESCO National Commission organized a series of events on 26 and 27 February 2022 at the UN Hub at EXPO Dubai 2020. The events discussed the Art of Geological Heritage Conservation at UNESCO, Resilience rippling effects for multiple natural hazards management in the context of the project U & I build resilience to save lives and properties of people in the Arab region funded by the Government of Japan, ReWilde Arabia with insights on a New Era for biosphere reserves in the Arab region. On 26 February 2022, three publications were launched by the end of the day. UNESCO Little Arab Explorer was at the UN hub on 27 February 2022 calling for the strong engagement of kids to reconnecting to nature.
The plenary brought together international and regional experts from various organizations including the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), the Global Geopark Network (GGN), Association of Geopark M'Goun in Morocco, UNDRR – Regional Office for Arab States, Arab Scientific and Technical Advisory Group (ArabSTAG),Civil Defense in Jordan, Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, and The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund - Abu Dhabi
