Follow-up activities to the Helsinki Action Plan

Periodic Reporting in Europe and North America

On the occasion of the 40th session of the World Heritage Committee, the Europe and North America unit is organizing a side event for Focal Points in the region to exchange on follow-up activities to the Second Cycle of Periodic Reporting.

The Helsinki Action Plan Monitoring Survey will be presented at the side event. This new online tool will allow States Parties in Europe to report on progress and achievements in the implementation of the Helsinki Action Plan.

Focal Points will also have the opportunity to take the floor and exchange on activities, accomplishments and good practices from the past year which have contributed to the priority areas identified in the Action Plan. Focal Points are invited to present activities relating to the three main priority areas:

  • Identification and protection of Outstanding Universal Value
  • Effective management of World Heritage properties
  • Increased awareness of the World Heritage Convention
New publications on Periodic Reporting

The side event will also be the occasion for the World Heritage Centre
to present two new publications on the Periodic Reporting data.
