Communication and Information

UNESCO’s Communication and Information Section has been working with the Government of Afghanistan and media professionals to develop policy frameworks to support media pluralism, and to develop effective communication and information guidelines. UNESCO supports the government and civil society stakeholders to preserve the freedom of press, freedom of expression, access to information and the safety of journalists in the country.

Social and Human Sciences

Hamdeli, in Dari means “the ability to understand and share the feelings of the other.” This is the name the Maslkh’s Internally Displaced People (IDP) youth group chose for their theatre group during a participatory theater activity organized by the UNESCO Kabul office in 2017 under the umbrella of the “National Program for Culture and Creative Economy” (NPCE). Read more...
