This document provides the report of the Expert meeting on the inclusion of the Historic Urban Landscape in the relevant sections of the text of the Operational Guidelines, which was held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from 7 to 11 December 2009, following Decision 33 COM 7.1 adopted by the World Heritage Committee at its 33rd session (Seville, 2009) as well as some elements concerning the impact of contemporary architecture on the Outstanding Universal Value of World Heritage properties

This document must be read in conjunction with Document WHC-10/34.COM/13 on the Revision of the Operational Guidelines.
