World Heritage Workshop on Sustainable Tourism Decision-making process

11-13 March 2014
Palau | Ron van Oers

The World Heritage Centre will organize a workshop on Sustainable Tourism Decision-making, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources Environment and Tourism of Palau. The workshop will be held in Koror, Palau from 11 to 13 March 2014, for government officials and community representatives of Palau, private sectors and NGOs.

This workshop falls within the framework of the Netherlands Funds-in-Trust project "Sustainable Development of Small Islands Developing States”, aiming to produce a World Heritage-oriented working tool using a values-based approach for aiding SIDS in defining paths to heritage tourism development. A workshop is proposed at a pilot site (Palau) to help define the tool’s content and recommendations for implementing the approach.
