Title: Global Conference on the Protection, Integration and Mental Health of Refugee Journalists

Description: The UNESCO Cluster Office in San Jose, Costa Rica will be organizing the Global Conference on the Protection, Integration and Mental Health of Refugee Journalists. The conference will be focused on discussing the link between impunity for crimes against journalists and the forced displacement of journalists. This initiative will be launched with the regional offices of IOM, UNHCR and WHO as well as NGOs, namely, CPJ, IFL, Reporters Without Borders, Article 19, Frontline Defenders and Protection International. The event is part of a long-term strategy of the Cluster Office to build alliances with key stakeholders geared towards to ensuring that the welfare and protection of refugee journalists, which is a priority in plans and policies in the Central American region.

Title: Training for the African Judicial Training Institutes

Description: A five-day workshop training of trainers for judicial actors in Africa, organized by UNESCO in partnership with the African Court on Human and People’s Rights, will be organized in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 29 November to 3 December 2021. Within the framework of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, the training will focus on international and regional standards on freedom of expression and the safety of journalists. Title: Roundtable discussion on the issue of impunity of crimes against journalists

Description: The eighth edition of the Ghislaine Dupont and Claude Verlon Scholarship, created in tribute to its two reporters murdered on November 2, 2013 in Kidal, northern Mali, is aimed at all young journalists and reporting technicians under the age of 35 who have already worked in the radio field for at least two years, and reside in French-speaking countries in Africa. Title: Opening Hearing of the People’s Tribunal on the Murder of Journalists

Title: Training on “Safety of Journalists” for Yemeni journalists

Description: The training will be organized in partnership with Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI), as part of the Empowering Yemeni Youth towards Peace project.
