Rome (Italy), a UNESCO Creative City of Film, in collaboration with NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) and the Cinema per Roma Foundation, has launched the first edition of the Z-Pitch Contest, an initiative aimed at providing training opportunities and visibility to aspiring young talents in the Film industry.

From 1 December to 28 February, students, and recent graduates from schools of film and media design in Italy are invited to submit audiovisual storytelling projects (feature films or serial projects), showcasing their ability and skill to tell contemporary and original stories through film.

Projects will be evaluated by a panel of experts selected by NABA and the Cinema per Roma Foundation. The 6 finalist projects will be offered the opportunity to participate in a series of advanced training masterclasses, so as to get prepared for a launching session scheduled to take place in April 2022, competing for two prizes: the Best Media Pitch and the Best Project. The young winners will further benefit from a high-level training course that will help them to prepare the participation of their projects in Italian and international market platforms, as well as obtain free accreditation for the next edition of the Rome Film Festival.

Through this initiative, Rome aims to provide young generations with opportunities to express themselves artistically and bring their ideas to the attention of filmmakers and other professionals, creating connections between emerging talents and relevant players of the industry to both deepen the talent pool and enhance the creation of jobs opportunities.
