The Delegation of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) visited Ashgabat for a series of meetings with the Deputy Minister of Education Mrs. Aknabat Atabaeva and other respective Academia of Turkmenistan at the beginning of December 2019.
During these meetings, Mr. Tao Zhan, IITE director, and Mr. Denis Kapelyushnik, programme specialist of the DPLM unit, discussed opportunities for capacity building on ICT in education with the colleagues from the International University of Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State Institute of Economy and Management, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, the Academy of Sciences, and the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Additionally, the IITE delegation visited UNICEF Turkmenistan to ensure coherence between UN partner organizations in promotion of ICT competencies for teachers and strengthening knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices.
