提高减灾意识以增强社区复原力：

联合国教科文组织世界地质公园网络由全球44个国家的169个保护区域组成，这些区域分布在不同的地理环境中，可能部分或完全暴露于各种自然灾害和极端天气事件。近年来，自然灾害已经对一些联合国教科文组织世界地质公园造成了大范围的破坏。此外，气候变化似乎影响着各种水文气象灾害的发生和强度。

许多教科文组织世界地质公园已经将减少自然灾害、保护公民和基础设施作为首要任务，并实施了一些项目，开发了具体的基础设施，举办了相关活动，以提高人们的认识并减轻风险。土著社区的现存知识有助于教科文组织世界地质公园制定良好的做法和举措，以克服危机，增强韧性。

教科文组织世界地质公园意识到培训和提高公众认识的行动以及制定和实施适当的风险管理计划非常重要。

这些公园每天都在从事减少灾害风险的工作，并非常积极地促进复原力的概念。许多指定地点正在庆祝国际减灾日，并借此机会提高认识，增强当地社区能力。

short description: in the light of recent events in Croatia regarding frequent earthquakes and constant fire hazard on the remote islands, especially during summer season, Geopark Vis Archipelago decided to join celebration of International Day for the Disaster Risk Reduction, and will, in cooperation with Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and Association of Voluntary Firefighters, organize 3 workshop adapted for children and youth. Our colleagues from Rescue Service and Firefighters will give a short lecture on potential disaster in Geopark Vis Archipelago, demonstrate the actions they take and enable children to participate through workshops. Workshops of this type allow children to learn the necessary skills in case of disasters, help them understand the processes and make them more prepared in times of crisis.

short description: one of the strategic actions put in place by the Pollino Geopark staff has been the realization of explanatory signage in highly representative sites from both the structural and geomorphological points of view. The geological interpretation and tectonic history of the whole area, such as length, kinematics and seismotectonics of the regional fault system, recognized, in the international geological literature, as the “Pollino Line”, has been provided in some geological viewpoints distributed along a km scale route.
In this way the Geopark set up a geo-route named “On the trail of the Pollino Line”, where the tourists can appreciate the information panels installed, explaining the geological, geomorphological, and tectonic processes that have determined the creation of the present-day structure and landscape.

short description: There will be two hikes one to Lardana glacier in order to appreciate and enjoy not only the ice but also all the features shaped by the glacier since the Little Ice Age. Other in Estiva and Bielsa valle to see Monte Perdido glacier and understand the main geoforms of the landscape made by the Cinca glacier over the last 65000 years. Finally, there will be a fieldtrip with the pupils of all the schools of the valleys that currently host active glaciers in our Geopark. In all the activities there will be awarening activities about climate changes and global warming.
