Sophia University Academic Research Special Promotion Project（2021-2023, Comparative and International Education Research on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Asia
The role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is attracting attention as a means of achieving the SDGs to solve global issues. Along with UNESCO's International Conference on ESD (2021), all schools in Japan, including UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network, are emphasizing education to nurture “creators for sustainable futures". In response to this, Sophia University has started an international joint research project on ESD (Sophia-ESD Project). In this symposium, we will discuss the significance and role of ESD as a kick-off of the project

アジアにおける持続可能な開発のための教育（ESD）をめぐる比較国際教育学研究
持続可能な未来社会の創造と教育の役割
地球規模課題解決のためのSDGs達成に向け、「持続可能な開発のための教育（ESD）」の役割が注目されています。ユネスコによるESD国際会議（2021年）とともに、日本でも、ユネスコスクールをはじめ、すべての学校で「持続可能な創り手」を育てる教育が重視されています。これを受け、上智大学では、ESDに関する国際共同研究（Sophia-ESDプロジェクト）を開始しました。本シンポジウムではそのキックオフとしてESDの意義と役割について議論します。
