By youth and for youth: join the Youth webinar series on the futures of education

UNSGYE Webinar series - VISUAL

This webinar series, co-organized with the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, will address broad questions around young people’s views on the possible and fundamental transformations in how societies, politics, economies and cultures may be organized in the future, and more specifically, how education systems and schooling may look like.

Currently our world is home to 1.8 billion young people between the ages of 10 to 24, the largest generation of young people in its history. Close to 90 per cent of this youth population live in developing countries. With such numbers, it is clear that sustainable development and peace cannot be achieved unless young people are involved in global discussions and decision-making processes, contributing to the creation of conditions that can allow them to reach and unleash their full potential.

This webinar series, composed of three 90-minute sessions from February 18 until March 19, aim to provide a space for dialogue, each featuring a Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals appointed by the Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth in 2020. Other panelists may include members of the International Commission on the Futures of Education, educators, innovators, and policymakers.

The webinar series will explore the futures of education focusing on the following themes:
